01

Choose a mounting method

Check the screen position and visibility before attaching the mount. Clean and dry a compatible flat surface, then attach the full adhesive base securely according to the mount instructions. Keep the screen clear of airbags and driving controls.

Suitable

SUVs, pickups and trucks with enough space between the dashboard and roof, while keeping the driver’s view clear.

A flat, firm area near the center of the dashboard that supports the entire adhesive base.

Not suitable

Low sedans and sports cars where the installed screen could obstruct the driver’s view.

Suede, fabric or other surfaces that cannot securely hold the 3M adhesive.

02

Connect and route the car charger

Route 1 · Direct routing: run the cable from the screen to the vehicle’s cigarette-lighter socket and secure it with the supplied cable clips. This is the quickest method, although the cable remains partly visible.

Route 2 · Concealed routing: follow the diagram, using cable clips and suitable gaps along trim panels and door weatherstrips to conceal the cable. Secure any excess cable in a suitable place beneath the floor mat or dashboard. Keep it clear of pedals, steering parts, airbags and moving components. Connect the device end to the screen and the charger to the power socket.

03

Route the backup camera cable

The diagram shows upper routing along the headliner (Route 2, green) and lower routing (Route 1, blue). Both serve the same purpose. The required length varies by vehicle, so choose the shorter suitable route. Tuck and secure the cable along trim edges and seals, clear of airbags, pedals and moving parts. Leave enough slack where the tailgate opens without pinching the cable.

04

Install the backup camera

For reversing assistance, the screen switches to a full-screen backup-camera view with parking guidelines when reverse gear is selected. This requires the rear thin red trigger wire to be connected correctly. If you do not need automatic reversing assistance, install the camera and leave this red wire unconnected, with its end insulated and secured.

A · Mount the camera

Mount the waterproof camera above the license plate. First disconnect the camera’s 4-pin connector from the main cable, as shown. Depending on the vehicle, you may need to remove the tailgate interior trim to route the cable from inside to outside. Use the vehicle’s instructions or search for a trim-removal tutorial for its exact make, model and year.

Use a suitable existing cable passage where possible and preserve its seal. Reconnect the 4-pin plug fully, then attach the camera above the plate with the supplied 3M adhesive or screws. Before drilling, check behind the panel and protect the hole against water ingress. Do not cover the plate or interfere with the tailgate.

B · Connect the reversing trigger wire

Identify the reversing lamp—the lamp that lights when reverse gear is selected. Depending on the vehicle, access its wiring through a service cover or by removing the tail-lamp assembly according to the vehicle manual. Switch off power before working on the wiring.

Confirm the reversing lamp’s positive supply with the vehicle wiring diagram and suitable test equipment; do not identify it by wire color alone. Check that the lamp signal is compatible with the camera’s trigger input, then connect the thin red wire at the rear of the camera cable to that positive supply. Use a suitable existing connector or a properly fitted automotive connector. Do not simply twist bare wires together and wrap them in tape; insulate, seal and secure the finished connection. Ask a qualified installer if the wiring or signal compatibility is uncertain.

With the vehicle safely stationary and secured, check camera operation and automatic switching into the reversing view. Adjust the camera angle and check the view before refitting the trim.
